The beautification project of the intersection of Interstate 64/40 and Mason Rd in The City of Town and Country was design and planned by Gateway Design Studio in partnership with EFK Moen Engineering to bring a sustainable landscape to the conjunction with native meadows/wildflowers, tree and shrub planting, backfilling, mulching, and utility maintenance. The design plan outlines recommendations for the landscape development and elements as part of the rejuvenation of the major intersection in Town and Country.

 

All phases of this project were completed in Fall 2019.

KEY ELEMENTS:

Arlington Grove Mixed Use Residential Redevelopment - City of St. Louis, MO

Arlington Grove located in the City of St. Louis is a proposed 112-unit mixed-income residential redevelopment that GDS was commissioned to provide landscape and irrigation design for.

 

The project consisted of landscape development for 91 newly constructed garden apartments and townhouses and 21 semi-detached units that will be created through the rehabilitation of the historic Arlington Elementary School. Arlington Grove will also bring a new aesthetic to the neighborhood and serve as a model for the development of green mixed-income communities.

 

GDS provided full landscape design and construction documents for this multi-family project including design/build irrigation plans for bidding. As part of the design process use of native plant material was required as part of the EGC requirements. All the units provided for a low maintenance and attractive durable landscape that will enhance the redevelopment of this community.

 

Phase 1 of this project was completed in 2012.
